This is an ongoing drive through word of mouth and networking irrespective of whether we have positions or not. Should it happen that they fit perfectly with a specific client we will immediately introduce them to the relevant client.

Methods of Selection/Screening of Candidates

Our well trained professional interviewers follow a selection procedure mentioned below. Please note that all our job advertisements, application and assessment forms are in line with South African Labour Legislation.

Selection and Screening Procedures
  • We will place advertisements in the newspaper on behalf of the Client.
  • We screen all candidates who respond to the advert to determine initial suitability before calling them in for interviews. This is done by using T&T Appointments’ competency based telephonic screening process.
  • Candidates who meet the criteria are then called in for thorough face-to-face interviews.
  • Interviewing: T&T Appointments makes certain that all our candidates applying for the same position are treated equally by utilising the Structured Competency Based Interviewing Technique. This technique tests candidates on both technical and behavioural competencies. It’s a fair and objective process which provides clients with valuable information about the candidate’s specific strengths and areas in which they need development and coaching.
  • Whre required, we test candidates on their computer software skills to establish their skills and competence level. Other tests like Literacy and Numerical ability are conducted upon request. A full battery of psychometric tests are available at Client's requests.
  • Verifying data: ITC, references, qualifications verification and other necessary checks required by individual clients on candidates are facilitated e.g. credit; criminal,qualifications etc. These are only conducted with the candidates informed consent. We allow Clients to verify references for all references obtained.
  • Preparing candidates before client interviews. We give candidate in-depth information regarding the company, job content, and minimum requirements to ensure that we don't waste precious time.
  • Providing feedback: After interviews with clients. T&T Appointments ensures that all candidates submitted to clients or those interviewed by clients receive feedback (regrets and acceptances).
  • Inducting candidates: Successful candidates will participate in an in-depth Induction Program conducted by T&T Appointments before commencement should the Client request this to ensure that the Client is completely satisfied.
Management and Placement of Temporary Employees
  • Temporary employees supplied by T&T Appointments work under the direction and to the satisfaction of a representative appointed by the Client, but officially report to T&T Appointments. We actively contribute to the temps performance management and take care of their salary/wages.
  • The Client will give T&T Appointments reasonable notice of any deviations by the employee from agreed-upon performance standards and procedures, any acts of misconduct, or any change of the Client operational requirements.
  • The Client will furnish T&T Appointments with its safety standards and policies and shall advise T&T Appointments promptly of all changes made to the standards and policy. Employees shall at all times comply with standards or policy, as amended from time to time.
  • T&T Appointments warrants that
    • It's business is duly registered in terms of the provisions of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 130 of 1993 (the COID Act)
    • It complies with its obligations in terms of the COID Act
  • Notice of termination of services/assignments of our temp employees will be as per BCEA unless an employee is on a fixed term contract which automatically ends upon expiry.
  • T&T Appointments will be responsible for providing timesheets to facilitate time keeping of temps. An authorised representative must sign the timesheet. The hours worked by T&T Appointment's Temp on an assignment must be recorded daily on timesheets. The hours must be certified correct by the client at the end of each week or on the agreed period.
  • Overtime, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays worked will be charged as per Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • T&T Appointments will look after the temps placed there by having telephonic contact with them fortnightly and by visiting them monthly.
  • T&T Appointments will pay the temps directly and issue them with payslips within one week of being paid.
  • T&T Appointments will attend to all temp queries within 24 hours
