Retail Key Accounts Sales Rep

Minimum Requirements:Whilst a Bachelors’ Degree and /or a Diploma in Marketing or equivalent would be an advantage, it is not an absolute requirement.
Minimum 3-5 years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity preferably in the Retails/Building materials sector
Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
Professional demeanour, selling style and appearance
Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development and time and territory management
Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
Strong knowledge of retail and or wholesale sale principles, methods, practices and techniques.
Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Vacancy Description:
Obtain new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on new and/or potential retail/reseller sales outlets leading for the company’s packaged/bagged cement products.
Focus the sales efforts (with the National Sales Manager) on identified main priority customers in the Retails channel segment
Manage product pricing in line with the company’s ‘Pricing Strategy/Philosophy’ ensuring that pricing levels are upheld and margin objectives are met.
Keep line management informed by submitting activity and performance reports, such as daily call register, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual customer/territory analysis.
Monitors competition by gathering current market environment information on pricing (including customer rebate structures), products, volumes, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques et al.
Recommends changes in product mix, price evolution and service offer to the key Retail customer base by evaluating our performance, financial results and competitor actions.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to line management.
Maintains professional, technical and industry knowledge, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies /industry bodies.
Analyse trends and results, keeping current with supply and demand dynamics, costs, economic indications which may result in selling price adjustments.
Establish effective working relationships and collaborations with other department inter alia Call Centre, Marketing, Logistics and Finance to address key business issues and priorities to provide the highest levels of customer service.
Conduct outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to qualify these leads and their product requirements.
Monitor business activities of major clinker-producer competitors (and 3rd Party Blenders) to assist in identifying their marketing mix and strategy.
Maximise merchandising opportunities (in-store), and attendance and promotion of cement at Trade Fairs/Expos’
Identify sales/marketing initiatives at store level and report to management for consideration
Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms and prepare order forms and/or reports
Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
Generate and develop new customer accounts to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue by cold-calling where necessary.
Use marketing data using applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
Assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients
Build and maintain on-going awareness of new products and services, competitor activities and other research.
Sales Technical Application

Minimum Requirements:• Commercial qualification e.g. 3/4 year Degree/Diploma in Commerce/Marketing would be advantageous
• Engineering Degree/Diploma, whilst not a prerequisite, would be advantageous
• ‘City and Guilds’ Diploma in Concrete Technology
• Advanced Concrete Technology Diploma and/or other related Concrete/Cement qualification

• 5-8 years’ experience in any of the end-use/target industries (Mining, Ready mixed Concrete, Civil/Building Construction, Concrete Product Manufacturing)
• Some experience in external sales would be beneficial preferably with a solid technical sales background
• A demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close sales deals while maintaining established sales quotas
• Professional demean or, selling style and personal appearance/grooming
• Proven track record in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development and time and territory management
• Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
• Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
• Experience with CRM (customer relationship software) would be an advantage
